Dracut Children's Center

Dracut Children’s Center (DCC) was founded in September 1989 by Darlene Gorman.  DCC began its journey in a building once utilized by the Dracut School System.  We began as a daycare facility, providing a safe and warm place for children, then expanded to include a  nursery school offering a developmentally appropriate curriculum.  Since then, Dracut Children’s Center has added another facility known as Dracut Children’s Center II.

With the huge success of our two centers, we expanded our programs and are now serving children from 6 weeks to 12 years old.   We are open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.  Our programs offer a “Home Away From Home” environment that is relaxing, friendly, and cheerful.  The family of Dracut Children’s Center has grown to a staff of 16 with over 50 years of combined experience in childcare.  Our dedication and professional expertise are used to provide you with the highest quality of childcare services.

Self-Concept is defined as how a child feels about himself or herself.  If a child feels good about whom he or she is, then it is likely that he or she will feel sufficiently confident and want to try new experiences and make new discoveries.  By constantly supporting your child, giving genuine praise at every opportunity, and helping your child feel good about who he or she is, we can help your child develop a valuable self-image, a determinant of lifelong success.

The teaching and learning that happens in our classrooms will help children begin to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge they will need to become active, productive citizens in their communities.

We are proud to be a licensed program with the State of Massachusetts EEC for over 17 years with an impeccable record.  Recently our programs have earned accreditation from the National Association of the Education of Young Children; the nation’s leading organization of early childhood professionals.
